General Pre-Treatment Preparation

Before any dental treatment, it’s important to be well-prepared. Here’s what you should do:

Consultation & Questions: The initial consultation is your opportunity to gather information and address any concerns. Don't hesitate to ask questions about the procedure, duration, anesthesia, and post-operative expectations. Our team is here to provide clear explanations and support you through every step. It's important to communicate any fears or worries you may have.

Medical History: Provide a complete medical history, including chronic conditions (diabetes, cardiovascular disease), current medications (especially blood thinners), allergies, and past surgeries (particularly chemotherapy or radiation). This information helps us tailor your treatment and ensure your safety.

Inform your dentist of any pregnancy, or if you are breast feeding.

Diet & Restrictions: Unless instructed otherwise, do not arrive on an empty stomach, especially for procedures involving local anesthesia, to minimize the risk of fainting. Avoid heavy meals immediately before your appointment; instead, go for a light, balanced meal about an hour before your visit.

Please refrain from consuming alcohol and tobacco before and after your dental appointment. These substances can interfere with anesthesia and healing.

Anxiety Management: Dental visits can feel stressful — and that’s completely normal. Our team is trained to make your experience as calm and comfortable as possible.

Let us know if you're feeling nervous. We can plan short breaks, play relaxing music, or explore options like mild pre-medication. Throughout your treatment, we’ll regularly check in with you, and you can pause at any time if you feel uncomfortable.

If you feel anxious or expect to need sedation, we can help arrange for a driver to take you home after the procedure.

Your wellbeing is our priority — every step of the way.
