    • So What Is the Best Solution for a Perfect Smile?

Having perfect teeth can set you up for a successful future. It certainly isn’t all you need, but it can certainly help. So, if you’re interested in getting a set of perfect teeth, here are some of the 3 top procedures you can consider.

But beyond this, we’ll also discuss why it matters to have perfect teeth as well as the factors that go into the process of defining an ideal smile.

Why Is Having Perfect Teeth Important?

Having perfect teeth is an asset that can influence our day-to-day lives positively. It’s the first feature people will notice in you and therefore can greatly affect people’s first impression of you.

In general, we associate bad teeth with negative things such as poor hygiene, bad diets, and the absence of youth. Which in turn leads people who don’t know you to assume similar negative things about your social and professional lives.

According to a recent study, people tend to gravitate towards people with perfect teeth because they find them to be approachable and trustworthy.

Another study points out that people with perfect or nice teeth are more likely to be successful in their careers.

So all in all, it seems that while having perfect teeth isn’t the be-all, it can certainly give you an advantage in life.

How Can You Get Perfect Teeth?

Before discussing what procedures you can consider to get an ideal smile, let’s first break down what makes a perfect smile.

    1- Alignment

The alignment of your teeth can have a significant impact on the appearance of your smile. Generally, everything relevant to symmetry is very easy for the eye to pick up on. For this reason, having perfect teeth means having perfect or near-perfect alignment.

If you have poorly aligned teeth, there are a few things that you consider to get your teeth in perfect alignment.

For one, orthodontics is always a good option to consider. The only downside to this treatment is the procedure time. Depending on how bad the natural alignment of your teeth is, treatment periods can vary from six months to 2 years.

Adults usually prefer to opt for more discreet alternatives when it comes to braces. These include lingual braces as well as Invisalign.

For a quicker fix, you can consider veneers; these are small shells that go on top of your natural teeth after shaving them down. Although you should note that veneers can only fix mild alignment issues. More severe cases should consider braces.

    2- Pigmentation

Having perfect teeth also constitutes having a bright smile. But over the years our teeth can wear down and acquire pigmentation. Many habits can contribute to this such as smoking and heavy consumption of coffee and other discoloring beverages.

If you have nicely aligned teeth but you’re only struggling with pigmentation, you can opt for teeth whitening to get your perfect teeth. The practice of teeth whitening is completely safe and the procedure yields instantaneous results. Your dentist will apply a special bleaching gel and use blue light to help it enter the enamel and break down the pigmentation.

But this only works with stains that you acquire not genetic pigmentation. If your teeth are just naturally dark, you can consider veneers instead. Which is as much of a quick fix as teeth whitening, but even better in terms of longevity. Veneers can last up to 18 years with the right aftercare,

With teeth whitening, you have to abstain from certain drinks and foods to maintain the brightness of your teeth. However, with veneers, that is not at all necessary.

    3- Chipping and Tooth Loss

The final criterion that can stop you from having perfect teeth is dental chipping or tooth loss. Tooth loss is generally inconvenient to the person suffering from it. It can cause issues with chewing and speech. And over the years, it can also cause bone loss in the area.

Therefore, you should treat tooth loss and chipping mainly to improve your oral health and improve the quality of your life. That being said, it is also crucial to correct the problem to get perfect teeth.

There are a few options that you can consider to correct tooth loss and chipping. For one, composite resin can be an affordable option to fix dental chipping. It’s a practical option that lasts for quite some time.  If you’re not familiar with resin, it is a clay-like material that can be color-adjusted to match your natural tooth color. Your dentist can use this material to reverse chipping and broken teeth.

You can also consider veneers to fix chipping and broken teeth and it would work just as great.

On the other hand, if you’ve lost a tooth with the root still intact you can opt for dental crowns. These come in a variety of materials but porcelain is the ideal option in general. Crowns have a longevity of up to 15 years and can help you restore all dental functions.

But if you lost the tooth together with the root, in that case, you can consider dental implants. These treatments are long-lasting and very efficient.

So What Is the Best Solution for a Perfect Smile?

There is no one correct solution, but there are some solutions that are more efficient than others. For instance, the Hollywood Smile or veneers; is a procedure that corrects multiple dental defects at once. From mild alignment issues to discoloration, and even chipping. So while maybe cost more than alternative procedures, it is at least just one quick and long-lasting fix. Especially recently with the CAD/CAM technology, your veneers can be ready within a matter of 2 days.

Instead of for example opting for orthodontics and then following it up with teeth whitening and maybe some resin to correct chipping.

When it comes to tooth loss, certainly nothing can top either dental implants or dental crowns. If the root is missing, you should opt for dental implants because they will give your crown the support and anchor it needs. But if your root is intact, then crowns alone can be sufficient,
